Vanilla Simple Syrup

The Story Behind the Recipe:

It’s simple. We ran out of chocolate syrup to make the KING of all recovery workout drinks- Chocolate Milk. Post workout Chocolate Milk is a must for me as an athlete (even more so as an athlete with a history of REDs).

Simple Syrup isn’t hard to make… but what about a Vanilla Simple Syrup? I haven’t tried that before. So I gave it go. It was a hit on the first try. This is PERFECT in the Vanilla Recovery Milk, so check out that recipe in the index.

Recommendations:

  • Most people don’t have Homemade Vanilla Extract at home… my favorite store brand if I had to choose: Hands down Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract from Nielsen-Massey

As close to homemade as you can get from the store in my opinion. I also now see that Nielsen-Massey makes a Mexican Vanilla I haven’t tried yet, and I’m intrigued to try that one.
