vanilla Recovery Milk
The Story Behind the Recipe:
It’s simple. We ran out of chocolate! Post workout fuel isn’t optional as an athlete. Did you know Chocolate Milk is still considered KING of the recovery drinks with its mix of carbohydrates and protein. I noticed store bought options of Chocolate Milk are typically made while whole milk, and we are a 1% milk family (currently).
So in my dismay, I had to improvise, because fueling well isn’t option. That morning I made a Homemade Vanilla Simple Syrup.
So I thought, “Why not try Vanilla Milk?”
I got off the bike like I normally do after doing a indoor easy ride. I mix the vanilla milk. First sip…
Holy Guacamole it was delicious. Hints of Salted Caramel with a bold woody vanilla flavor.
You know that moment when your eyes bug out of your head, because your world just shifted. I know it is a bold claim. In that moment, it was love at first sip. Vanilla Recovery Milk and I have long happy future ahead.
(I drank half before taking the pic… couldn’t help myself. lol)
